Sustainable Spaces for Study and Stewardship: Forest Sciences Centre

Paulo Ramos July 14, 2025

The Forest Sciences Centre at UBC stands on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people. We are deeply grateful to live, learn, and work on this land.

This remarkable building, made with mass timber and featuring exposed glulam beams and wood elements, reflects a deep respect for forests and the materials they provide. Designed with sustainability in mind, the Forest Sciences Centre serves not only as a place of learning and collaboration, but as a living example of how forest products can shape a more sustainable future.

Each day, we’re reminded of the connection between land, people, and place — and of the responsibility we share in stewarding these relationships with care.
